FAQs
What features should I look for in a coffee maker?
When you’re shopping for a coffee maker, look for models with precise temperature control, a thermal carafe and a showerhead design to provide even water distribution for the best-tasting coffee. Precise temperature controls keep your coffee at the temperature you want. A thermal carafe keeps coffee hot for hours without a heating plate. A wide showerhead design with multiple holes saturates the coffee grounds evenly and can extract more flavour. We have coffee makers like drip coffee makers, single-serve coffee makers, coffee percolators and more to choose from.
How do you make coffee in a drip coffee maker?
To make coffee in a drip coffee maker, fill the water reservoir with fresh water and insert a coffee filter into the basket. Then, place your ground coffee into the basket, place the carafe on the base and turn the coffee maker on to start brewing. After the coffee has been brewed, turn the machine off to clean up, throw out the used coffee grounds and coffee filter and rinse the basket before the next use.
How do you descale an espresso machine?
To descale an espresso machine, start by emptying the drip tray and water tank. If there’s a water filter, remove it as well. Then, mix a packet of descaling powder with around 1 litre of warm water until the powder is dissolved. Pour the solution into the water tank and put it back on the machine. Place a large container under the group head and steam wand and place the machine in descale mode if that setting is available. Press the one-cup button to run the solution through the coffee group head and turn the dial to activate the steam wand and hot water spout. Repeat the cycle until the water tank is empty.
How do you clean an electric kettle?
To clean an electric kettle, boil a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water. Let it sit, then rinse the kettle thoroughly. Use a sponge to scrub the inside of the kettle and remove any loosened bits. This helps clean the kettle and remove mineral and limescale buildup. To remove any vinegar taste, boil fresh water in the kettle twice, discard it immediately and let it air dry.
