FAQs
What is a napkin used for?
A napkin is a piece of cloth or paper that’s used during meals to wipe your mouth and fingers, keep them clean and help protect your clothing from food spills. It can also be used to quickly clean surfaces on computer desks, tables and countertops. For larger spills and messes, we have a selection of paper towels, disinfecting wipes and all-purpose cleaners to choose from.
Which is correct, napkins or serviettes?
Both napkins and serviettes are correct terms to use. They are terms for the same item, with usage varying by region and material. Both terms describe an item used to wipe your mouth and fingers. Napkin is the standard term in American English, while serviette is more common in British English. Along with napkins, we have a great selection of disposable cups, disposable cutlery, disposable plates and bowls and straws for your office or next office event.
What is the difference between napkins and paper towels?
Napkins are designed specifically for dining so people can wipe messes from their mouths and fingers caused by food and drinks. Paper towels are more durable and are made for kitchen cleaning and liquid spills. They use coarser fibres and stronger plies than napkins and don’t fall apart when they get wet. Napkins are typically 1 to 3 plies while paper towels can range from 2 to 4 plies.
How does a napkin dispenser work?
A napkin dispenser uses a spring-loaded plate or an interlocked folding design to hold a stack of paper napkins for people to use. When you pull a napkin from the slot, a mechanism pulls the next napkin forward or pushes it up so it’s ready for the next person. To refill a napkin dispenser, open the latch or lid and slide a stack of new napkins inside without overfilling.
