Shrink and Stretch Wrap Essentials
Wrap, Protect, and Secure Items for Shipping or Storage
FAQs
Can you shrink wrap without a machine?
Yes. If you don’t have a shrink wrap machine, you can still use a heat gun to carefully shrink the plastic around your item. For extra reinforcement or sealing edges, duct tape or packing tape can help. If wrapping isn’t an option, pack items in corrugated boxes with padding to keep them safe.
What is shrink wrap used for?
Shrink wrap is great for protecting and securing a wide range of items—from retail products to luggage and even cardboard boxes. It can also be used alongside or as an alternative to poly mailers, bubble mailers and packing peanuts to keep everything tightly sealed and free from dust, dirt, and shifting during transport or storage.
What is the difference between shrink wrap and stretch wrap?
Shrink wrap is a plastic film that shrinks tightly around items when heat is applied, offering a snug and protective seal—perfect for individual items or smaller packages. Stretch wrap, on the other hand, clings tightly without heat and is typically used for bundling multiple items or wrapping pallets. Each has its own strength depending on how and what you're packing.
