FAQ
What is sensory play?
This type of play engages a child's senses, including touch, sight, sound, taste, and smell. Sensory play is beneficial for children as it helps them develop their sensory processing skills, cognitive skills, social skills, and language skills. It involves activities that encourage children to explore and discover the world around them through their senses. Examples of sensory play activities include playing with sand, water, playdough, slime, and other tactile materials. Sensory play can also involve exploring different scents and tastes, listening to different sounds, and looking at different colours and patterns.

Why is sensory play important?
When children use their senses to explore and learn about the world around them they develop their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills in a fun and natural way. By engaging in hands-on exploration and experimentation, children become more curious, creative, and confident. Sensory play also helps children develop their language skills as they learn new words to describe the things they are sensing. Overall, it’s an effective and enjoyable way for children to develop their sensory processing skills and enhance their learning and development.
