Every year, an event known as The Hunger Games is held. One boy and one girl from each district is selected by lottery to compete in the battle to the death, with only one person standing. The story begins in District 12, where the lottery chooses Primrose to compete. In an effort to protect her sister, Katniss volunteers, taking her place. The story then follows Katniss as she journeys to the Capitol and enters the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is an emotional story of survival, selection, and overcoming obstacles.
