With bullet journals finding popularity with people all across Canada, from productivity fans to super-organized families, we're seeing tons of great ideas on how to maximize your bullet journal experience. We've put together some tips to help you take your bullet journal to the next level. We can skip the step where you make this a to-do for later: read on, and find out!
What you'll need: bullet journal, coloured highlighters.
The whole point of an index is to make things easier to find, and with this tip, it takes the guesswork out of finding things in your bullet journal completely. Start by picking four colours to represent the four main types of bullet journal area:
With our bullet journal we picked pink for future log pages, yellow for our month pages, blue for our week log, and orange for our notes pages. In your index, highlight your pages by type, then use your highlighter to organize and label each page.
What you'll need: bullet journal, scissors, tape, pens, coloured highlighters.
Like colour-coding your index, creating a fold-out key is a great way to get an at-a-glance idea of what's going on with any page in your journal. Use your scissors to cut a rectangle of paper to write your key on. Choose your colours and create a coloured rectangle or square with your highlighters for each type of entry you want to identify. Then use your pen to label those squares. Tape the fold-out key into the back of your bullet journal, and fold it out when necessary. Now all you need to do is use your highlighters to highlight pages with entries to stay organized!
What you need: bullet journal, washi tape, glue, envelope.
Having an extra pocket to store ideas, reminders, and quotes is super-handy, and adding one to your bullet journal couldn't be any simpler! For this hack, take an envelope that fits completely inside a page of your bullet journal. Lay it against the page with the flap extending outside of the journal, then cut washi tape to fit the three sides of the envelope. Use glue to affix the envelope to the page, then apply the washi tape to the sides of the envelope to secure it and give your bullet journal some personal style. Let it dry, then add your ideas, reminders, quotes, and other tidbits, ready for when you need them!
