FAQs
Are Swiffer Dusters worth it?
Swiffer dusters are worth getting for their speed, convenience and ability to trap dust. Their fluffy, coated fibres can grab and lock dirt instead of spreading it into the air. They’re useful for removing dust from counters, tables, appliances, desks, televisions and computer monitors, laptops and gaming consoles. Their flexible heads can bend to reach tough areas and when you’re finished, they can easily be thrown into a garbage bin. For electronics, you can also consider electronic cleaning supplies like screen cleaning wipes and air dusters.
Is a Swiffer better than a mop?
Neither a Swiffer nor a mop is universally better than the other. They each offer unique cleaning solutions for people to use. Swiffers are best used for fast cleanups in tight spaces because of their lightweight and flexible designs. Standard mops or spin mops are better used for heavy-duty cleaning, sanitizing and grime removal on larger areas because of their size and cleaning capability.
How often should sweeper pads be replaced?
Generally, sweeper pads and mop pads should be replaced every 3 to 6 months for reusable pads. However, that can vary based on usage. Reusable sweeper pads should be cleaned regularly so they don’t spread trapped dust and dirt around. For disposable pads, they should be thrown out immediately in a garbage bag after they are used and soiled. Signs that you should replace your reusable pads include loss of absorbency, lingering odours, fraying and streaking on floors.
Can Swiffer pads be cleaned and reused?
Standard Swiffer pads are designed for single-use. They cannot be washed effectively, and they should not be reused. They tend to tear or disintegrate when washed or used multiple times. If you’re looking for an alternative to using Swiffer pads, consider options like microfibre cloths, sponges or washcloths that can be washed and reused depending on your needs.
