How to customize and personalize your back-to-school supplies

When it comes to back-to-school shopping, it’s easy for everything to start looking the same year after year. You have the same list of items you need, and the shelves are stocked with the same products. There are a few ways you can get creative to customize your back-to-school essentials to stand out and make them your own.

Here are five ways to customize and personalize your back-to-school supplies…

Bullet Journaling. The idea of the bullet journal is taking the world of organized people (and those, who want to be organized) by storm. Bullet journaling is simple to start, all you need is a notebook and a pen and the understanding of a few basic rules. By taking a few minutes to learn the system, you can begin to categorize your entries and have a simple, smart and creative way of keeping your life organized! The best part? The design is 100% up to you. You choose the colours, shapes, topics and decide how and when to include them.

Binders, Notebooks and Dividers. The dividers in your binder don’t have to be boring beige. With metallics, florals, polka dots and faux marble folders and dividers, you’ll want to open that binder and take notes.

Backpack Accessories. Who said keychains are only for keys? This year, Staples is introducing keychains to help customize your backpacks and pencil cases. Pom-poms, tassels, pineapples, flamingos, hook will add a little something extra to your backpacks or pencil cases this year. If pom-poms aren’t your thing, be sure to check out backpack patches that can be ironed on or pinned directly on your backpacks.

Locker Décor. The locker is a sacred place for any high-school student. Wall Pops Locker Kits are a perfect way to make your lockers unique this year. The kit comes with wallpaper, a mirror, dry erase board, pencil pocket and magnets. It’s available in lots of prints and styles so there is sure to be one you love. Individual locker accessories are also available, if you just need a few pieces to spice up your space including tassel, pom-pom and emoji magnets.

Study Spaces. Studying at home can be tricky. You want to be sure you are giving yourself a quiet, organized and motivating place to get your homework done. The best way to do this is to bring some fun and colourful products into your space. Try a teal or pink magnetic dry erase board. Not enough space for a full board? Check out the gold circle and chalkboard square peel and stick dry erase shapes for you to write down your thoughts. For a little extra motivation try our Lightbox Sign to leave fun quotes on your desk and more desk accessories.
