Stocking stuffers are an important part of Christmas shopping that we often leave until the last moment. Inevitably, this means that stockings end up being filled with mundane items, like socks and chapstick. Personally, I like to use this real estate to give my loved ones small tech items that they can make use of throughout the year. Here are a few ideas for tech stocking stuffers that anyone would appreciate:
Price: $22.99
Smartphones are amazingly useful devices but thanks to our reliance on them and our need for bigger, brighter screens, their battery life often leaves something to be desired. There are few things that are worse than running out of juice while you’re writing an important email or using the GPS function on your phone for directions. This can be especially frustrating when you’re nowhere near an outlet. Since this seems to be a universal struggle from smartphone users these days, you really can’t go wrong with a power bank. TP-LINK’s 2600mAh Power Bank is a great choice that’s compatible with a wide variety of devices, fits in a pocket, and comes in under $25.
Price: $24.85
A virtual reality headset that’s compatible with a wide range of smartphones sounds too good to be true but one that comes in under $25 is simply unbelievable. But that’s exactly what the ReTrak Utopia is. This headset offers anyone with a smartphone an opportunity to experience virtual reality through hundreds of VR-compatible smartphone apps. To use the Retrak Utopia, the user simply places their smartphone into the flip lid. The headset is powered by the smartphone so no batteries are needed. It’s a simple, low-cost way to try out VR and see what all the fuss is about and it’s the perfect gift for teenagers and people who enjoy playing smartphone games.
Price: $19.93
The Logitech M325 Wireless Mouse is a perfect stocking stuffer for laptop users, especially those who struggle with track pads. This mouse is smaller than your typical desktop mouse and is compatible with all major operating systems. It’s also very efficient and gets up to 18 months of battery life out of one AA battery.
Price: $19.64
If you have kids, you know that earbuds disappear or break on a regular basis. For this reason, I recommend purchasing inexpensive ones for kids. The Skullcandy Smokin’ Buds sound great for the price and even have a built-in mic for taking calls on the go. If you have a house full of teenagers, you might as well stock up on these—I can almost guarantee they’ll get used.
Price: $10.92
USB flash drives are another one of those items that will always come in handy. These little drives tend to go missing so frequently that you might as well slip two or three into each of those Christmas stockings. The great thing about this Lexar model is that instead of a cap, which can be easily lost, they have a durable rotating jacket to protect the business end of the drive. These are another great gift for teenagers so they can easily transfer homework and projects between home and school computers.
