Here are a few simple things you can start doing to increase your health one day at a time. Being healthier starts with a few small steps that can make a huge difference in your everyday lifestyle.
Drinking More Water
Since our bodies are made up of 75% water, it’s important to drink a lot of water. The more water you drink the better it is on your body. Drinking water helps flush out all impurities and toxic waste from your body. Drinking a gallon of water a day is recommended.
If you are not a huge fan of water you may want to try adding raw fruits such as strawberries, pineapples and grapes or a lemon. The fruit will naturally add flavor to the water.
Taking More Walks
Walking is an excellent form of exercise. It increases your metabolism, blood circulation and your muscle strength. You can walk with family or friends or to your favorite music.
Create A Sleeping Schedule
Sleep deprivation can cause you more harm than any good. Adults are supposed to get from 8-10 hours of sleep every night. However, the average adult only sleeps 5-6 hours a night. Not getting enough rest can make you stressed and less proficient throughout your day.
You want to create a sleeping schedule that enables you to get the proper amount of rest that you need. The important part is sticking to your schedule as best as you can. You may want to try going to sleep 1-2 hours earlier to help you feel more rested in the morning.
Replacing One Snack With A Fruit/Vegetable
During a busy day, eating healthy may be the last thing on your mind. But small steps is what matters. If you normally eat cookies everyday, try replacing them with an apple or banana. Once you’ve conquered replacing one snack, try to replace the second snack you may have during the day. Feel free to change up the fruits and add vegetables, or nuts.
