Tis the Season for Fun: Interesting Things To Do This Spring

Spring is the time to ditch the snow boots and heavy coats and revel in the warm weather. You and your loved ones can take advantage of the spring weather  and renewal that comes with spring with a few fun activities that everyone will enjoy.

Have a Picnic

Gather your friends and family in the kitchen and put together a picnic menu. You can pack light but satisfying items like fresh fruit, whole grain chips with hummus or turkey or chicken slices stuffed with feta cheese and olives for a spring picnic that is fancy and fun.

Go Hiking

Hiking makes for a fun spring outing that gives you a good workout. The spring weather, which is not too warm and not too cold in many cases, helps to make the hike more comfortable. Be sure to take lots of pictures of the plants and animals you see and add them to a hiking scrapbook so you’ll remember your hiking trip for years to come.

Visit a Farm

A trip to the farm is a great way to teach your kids about animals and help them to understand how some of the foods we eat every day are created. If possible, you may want to go to a farm that offers a petting zoo.  You may even get the chance to taste some of the produce that is grown on the farm. A taste of apples or berries could inspire your entire family to eat healthier, both in spring and throughout the year.

Build a Tree House

This may be a huge undertaking, but it could provide a new place for your family to play and share secrets. This spring project could also give you a sense of accomplishment, which could help to make spring your favourite season. Customize your tree house by painting it in your favourite colours or adding pillows to the inside.

Take a Walk On The Beach

Whether you’re looking for a fun family outing, or want to spend some time with that special someone, the spring is a nice time to walk along the beach. The beauty of the sunset is sure to captivate you, and of course, you can take a swim or play a game of volleyball. This is a cost-effective activity that could turn into a fond memory for you and your loved ones.

Take a Cooking Class

Spring is the perfect season to learn how to make some new dishes. The season is often associated with light dishes that are filled with fresh fruits and vegetables. Visit a local health food store or culinary school to learn more about how you can make delicious grilled dishes and low-carb desserts that will make you the star of your next spring dinner party. You can also take classes for wine pairings, so you’ll know the perfect beverage to serve with your new culinary feast.
