5 Delicious Ways to Eat Leftover Turkey

What's a Thanksgiving dinner without roast turkey? If you are in the habit of cooking a lot of turkey on Thanksgiving, there will usually be some leftover the following day. Leftover turkey is never a waste because you can keep it in the fridge and eat it for several days. In fact, there are an amazing number of dishes you can make with leftover turkey.

Here are 5 delicious ways to eat leftover turkey:

1. Turkey sandwich 

Sandwiches are one of the easiest things to make with leftover turkey. Depending on your taste, prevailing mood and the ingredients available, you can make a grilled turkey sandwich, a sweet and spicy turkey sandwich, turkey bacon avocado sandwich, Cuban midnight turkey sandwich, a turkey wrap and a Monte Cristo sandwich or any other type of sandwich that you are good at making. Quick and easy to make, leftover turkey sandwiches are especially good for breakfast, but you can have it at any time of the day.

2. Turkey pot pie

Another quick and easy item you can make from leftover turkey is the turkey pot pie. There are several variations of this mouthwatering dish; but most of them require readymade pie crust (you can make your own if you want to) and vegetables such as carrots, peas and beans. You may top it with cheese, cream or fried egg. Leftover turkey pot pie taste great and you can have it for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

3. Turkey Enchilada Casserole

Want to try a delicious Mexican dish right after Thanksgiving? Go for turkey enchilada casserole. Leftover roast turkey is perfect for this mouthwatering dish. You will need some tortilla, garlic, onion, oregano, cheese, and enchilada sauce. You may put in whatever vegetables you have available in your kitchen. If you don't have enchilada sauce at home, you can either run down to the local store or make your own using flour, tomatoes, onion, chili powder and a few other ingredients.

4. Leftover Turkey Tostada

Here is another delicious Mexican dish you can make with leftover turkey. Tostada means 'toasted' in Spanish. In Mexico and Hispanic America, the term is used for a variety of local dishes that are toasted or toasted based. Tortilla also falls in this category, although it is actually fried and not toasted. To make leftover turkey tostada, you will need tortillas, salsa, cheese, yoghurt and shredded lettuce. If you don't have salsa, you can make your own with tomatoes and onion. It is best if you can sauté the vegetable mixture before going to bed on Thanksgiving Day so that it becomes just right for cooking with turkey the following day. Usually eaten with a topping of fried egg, turkey hash is perfect for lunch.
