Summer is finally here and with so much to do, sometimes we neglect working out. I actually prefer working out in the summer because I can do so much more than just going to the gym. There are so many outdoor exercises that I couldn’t do in the winter that I am more than happy to do now, that it’s summer time!
So here are 5 outdoor exercises to stay fit this summer:
1. Jogging:
Jogging is an excellent way to exercise your body and refresh your mind. Go jogging early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid sunburn and jog for at least half an hour a day. The best thing about jogging is that you can jog anywhere; but try to avoid busy roads and intersections and through dangerous neighborhood. If there is a track near your home, that would be a great place to jog. Also, make sure that you have good quality jogging shoes to avoid foot injury.
2. Swimming:
Swimming is one of the best exercises to stay fit and healthy on a hot summer day. 30 minutes of swimming a day can get and keep you in great shape. Early morning swims before your day begins can be an excellent way to start your day. If you don’t have time for an early morning swim, a late afternoon swim can also be a great de stressor after a long day.
3. Hiking:
If you love walking outdoors, then nothing beats hiking. A few hours in the outdoors once or twice a week can provide you with all the exercise you need to stay fit. Besides, the beautiful scenery, the fresh air, the sound of leaves rustling in the trees and water flowing in the streams, the serenity will rejuvenate you and make you feel alive. But try not to go alone; make it a group activity. Wear comfortable footwear and take some snacks and a bottle of water.
4. Bicycling:
Bicycling is a popular outdoor fitness activity in summer. It's an an excellent way to exercise your legs and arms. Since you will likely pass through many different places along the way, the ride will be far from boring. If you are going on a long journey out of the city, make it a group activity with your friends. Don't forget to wear a helmet and take a bottle of water.
5. Badminton:
Do you like badminton? It's an excellent way to keep fit in summer. If you are a good player and have an equally good opponent, 30 minutes of vigorous play will be enough to burn enough calories to stay fit. Make sure that you have a good pair of shoes to avoid injuries to your feet and drink plenty of water during the breaks to keep yourself hydrated.
