Travel Tips for Business Part II

In the first installment, we talked about proper luggage and helpful tips on earning points for traveling. Now, I’ll review the most popular travel destinations for  business  travelers.

Travel picRight now, the Canadian dollar is hitting record highs, close to parity with the American greenback. It’s also gaining strength against the Euro, making overseas travel a little more affordable compared with previous years, when the exchange was $2.50 per one Euro.

It’s a great time to take advantage of the strong Canadian dollar. Spain, Germany and the southern United States are really popular right now. There are many great deals to be had, as hotels are offering low rates to stay competitive and keep their vacancies filled.

Whether you have to attend a conference south of the border or are planning an event overseas, there are many things to consider—from travel regulations to importing and exporting goods.

If only a couple of you are traveling, there are many websites that offer discounted hotel rates. Or if you need large-group arrangements, you can arrange a group booking with a hotel, taking advantage of the corporate rate. The same applies when flying—group rates are offered by some airlines.

Destinations like Orlando, Florida are popular since there are plenty of flights to and from destinations worldwide, and their hospitality industry is built to handle large groups, with endless meetings spaces, convention centres and hotels. The weather there is a bonus, with severe weather concerns minimal, depending on the time of year. Furthermore, you can have the whole family join you after the meetings have ended, as some of the world’s greatest theme parks are local.

Destinations like Germany and Spain are popular too, since many residents speak English fluently or are multilingual, plus it makes a great excuse to book some personal time at the end of meetings to do some sightseeing.
