Typical shredding needs are managed by dropping your documents in one of our locked, in-store bins – found at every Staples store across Canada. We’ll do the rest. Your documents will be recycled responsibly and your information will be fully protected through a tightly-controlled chain of custody.

One-Time Pickup Shredding Service

If you have bulk shredding needs – greater than that of a typical store drop-off – we can arrange for a one-time pickup.Your documents will be picked up from your home or office and safely disposed of using the same degree of safety and security. Speak with an in-store solutionshop associate to request this service and determine your preferred pickup service.

Why should I shred my documents?

Secure shredding allows businesses to safely and cost-effectively dispose of unnecessary paper-based documentation that may contain confidential information. Shredding can help prevent identity theft and data breaches while freeing up space – recycling responsibly.

What can I shred?

Clean paper (any size), blueprints, newspapers, magazines, brochures, mail, photographs, and file folders can be easily shredded without the need to remove staples, paper clips, rubber bands or small binders.

What can I expect after my pickup order is placed?

You will receive email notification of your order after checkout. Our partner, Iron Mountain, will contact you within 2-3 business days to schedule your exact pick-up date.

Will you pick up documents from my house/home office to shred?

Iron Mountain will pick up documents from your house/home office – or from any location – for secure shredding services. First, they’ll drop off your bins to be filled and pick them back up on your scheduled pickup date. Bins or boxes must be on a ground floor (i.e. ground floor porch or garage) as Iron Mountain representatives are not permitted to enter any home.

Note: Residential shredding is subject to availability, based on service location.

What type of containers do you use in your shredding program?

Iron Mountain offers 65-gallon containers (each holding approximately 230 lbs or eight standard size paper boxes) as well as 32-gallon consoles (which hold approximately 100 lbs.).

Will you provide a Certificate of Destruction for my shredded documents?

Yes, Certificates of Destruction are available upon request.
